Skaters of all ages and levels are invited to join us this spring for a revue-style recital. Skaters will prepare a solo program and/or a duet number (coach supervised) to perform for family and friends. Skaters may also choose to skate their existing competition program. This is a special opportunity to create something new with no required elements to share with family and friends, or to practice skating for an audience without the pressure of competition. All skaters from any club (or no club at all) are welcome to participate.

Click the registration link below and register. Registration is through your Blazers Ice Centre EZ Facility account. If you will be skating in additional solo, duet, or trio numbers, please select the appropriate number of program items when you register. Additional programs added after your initial registration will be invoiced to your account. Cost is $30 per skater per program plus tax. Presently, limit is three total programs per skater.

SOLO PROGRAM (OR DUET OR TRIO)
Skaters may choose to skate in up to three programs, which may be solos or duets/trios in any combination. Limit is three total programs per skater. Cost is $30 per skater per program. There are no scheduled rehearsals for your solo program or small group numbers. Skaters will simply schedule time with coaches to work on this ahead of the performance. Solos and small group numbers can be rehearsed with music on any training ice session. To register, simply select the appropriate number of programs and be sure to provide all requested information.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What if I want to participate, but I don’t have a private coach yet?
Skaters will want to work with a private coach to design and execute a program to their chosen music. If you would like to skate in the Spring Showcase, but you don’t work with a private coach yet, that’s ok! Simply stop by the front desk or send an email to blazersicecentre@gmail.com. We will get in touch with you to find out a bit about your skater and help you connect with a coach who can help.
How many programs can I perform in the show?
Presently, skaters are limited to 3 programs in total. Many skaters skate only one solo program. Some skaters will choose to perform one solo program and perhaps be part of a duet or trio. For now, each skater may skate their first program and one or two additional programs if they choose. We would like to encourage duets and trios for third programs. If additional time slots are available after registration has ended, and you/your skater would like to perform an additional solo program beyond the current limit, these additional time slots will be available on a first-come-first-served basis by coach request.
What kind of music can I skate to?
This show is a spring showcase, so there is no specific thematic requirement for music. Music from any source is welcome. Music can be religious or secular in nature. All musical selections should be family-friendly. We cannot accept music selections which contain profanity or subject matter that is explicit or otherwise unsuitable for young audiences. All music selections must be approved. If you aren’t sure whether your music is appropriate for any reason, simply send your music file along with your inquiry to blazersicecentre@gmail.com. We’re happy to help!
How long should my music be?
Please keep your program to somewhere between 1:40 – 3 minutes or shorter. Try to make your program around the same length as your competition program or shorter. If you would like to skate your competition program, you are more than welcome to do so! For example, if your normal competition program is 1:50, try to keep your Spring Showcase program around the 1:40 – 2 minute mark. If your normal competition program is 3:30, keep your Spring Showcase program around that same time or shorter. We want everyone to be creative and skate at their level, but we are also mindful of time. If you don’t have a regular competition program yet, shoot for around 1:40 – 2:00.
What does it cost to attend the Spring Showcase as a spectator?
Spring Showcase is free for spectators. Invite your family and friends to cheer you on. Everyone is welcome to watch at no charge. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase in the snack bar.
